Today, Air Canada announced tremendous growth out of its hub in Vancouver (YVR) in the form of new routes and additional frequencies.

Vancouver (YVR) to Paris (CDG):
Air Canada will serve the French capital 4x weekly from June 8th, 2018 to October 15th, 2018 on-board its Boeing 787 aircraft (the airline has not yet specified whether it is the -8 or larger -9 variant).
Vancouver (YVR) to Zurich (ZRH):
Air Canada will serve the Swiss city 3x weekly from June 7th 2018 to October 14th, 2018 on-board its Boeing 787 aircraft (the airline has not yet specified whether it is the -8 or larger -9 variant).
Both of these routes are summer seasonal, and will end in mid-October when leisure travel to Europe slows.

But wait! Theres more!
Vancouver to Melbourne, Australia (MEL):
Air Canada announced that it is converting its seasonal Vancouver to Melbourne flight to year round service starting June 1st, 2018. AC will serve the Australian city 3x weekly upon its commencement early next summer.
Vancouver to Delhi, India (DEL):
Air Canada announced that it is increasing seasonal service to the Indian capital from 3x weekly to 5x weekly starting October 14th, 2018.
Vancouver to London (LHR):
Air Canada announced that it is increasing service to London to 2x daily starting in Summer 2018 to match business/leisure demand. (No exact date provided)
To the Point!
This is enormous growth out of British Colombia. Vancouver travelers now have additional options to reach Europe next summer. I wouldn’t put it past some Seattle residents to catch a quick flight up to YVR in order to take advantage of some of these new non-stop routes.
I’m surprised at the rate in which Air Canada is rapidly adding growth. Just last week they announced a new flight between Montreal and Tokyo, and then today drop this bombshell stating growth on three continents (Europe, Asia, and Australia). Good for AC.
